“The port of Tallinn send cargo to all five continents and ships from many foreign countries put in to anchor here. Tallinn is one of the biggest sea-ports of our country, with trade links with many of the countries of Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Goods are constantly being carried to and from Latvia, Lithuania, Leningrad and Kaliningrad. It is also a passenger port of growing importance, especially since the Tallinn–Helsinki route opened in 1965, linking Estonia with the capital of Finland. The Tallinn lighthouse stands welcoming sailors in the blue waters at the edge of the bay.”
