“One of the strongest towers was the Kiek In de Kök Cannon-Tower. It’s Low German name translate “Peep into the kitchen”, and from the top floor of the tower it was really possible to do so. In it’s time Kiek In de Kök with it’s tremendous fire power and it’s 3.8 metre-thick walls was the most powerful cannon-tower in the Baltic region. It’s impregnability was proved in the Livonian war. Now the tower houses a department of the Tallinn City Museum.”
